As a wedding photographer in Lafayette, Indiana, my work is primarily photojournalistic in style. I adore capturing all the formal portraits and cake cutting and bouquet toss and everything else, but I've found my favorite moments are the unique, unposed ones that might otherwise go missed: the flower girl with frosting on her face, the laughter of your grandma during the speeches, the tear that makes its way down your dad's face during the ceremony.
Those raw, unposed seconds are fleeting, and that's where the emotion is richest for me. My photos are vibrant, clean, and timeless. What you see is what you get.
When I first got engaged and was starting to plan my own wedding, my biggest concern was making sure we'd get great pictures from our wedding day. In fact, there was a running joke in my family that I'd find a way to photograph my own wedding. Of course, I couldn't do that. But I can photograph your wedding like it's my own and make your dreams come true!
As a wedding photographer in Lafayette, Indiana, and wherever else your love might take you, I'm there to make sure things run according to plan while capturing all the best moments of your day. There is nothing I love more than love stories, and I love getting to play a part in capturing yours.
Cayley and Michael are so fun and easygoing, which is good since we ran into a disc golf competition during their photos! During their reception, Cayley and her dad surprised their guests with an awesome choreographed dance. These two had such an elegant, fun day (and I'm still swooning over her veil).
Christina and Kurt celebrated their union at their home in Pennsylvania with their closest family and friends. (And their dog, Hope!) Can you believe they built the pergola themselves? Christina is an event planner, so she chose the most gorgeous details to make sure their day was unforgettable.
Ellen and Danny met at cross country practice at fourteen years old, and ten years later tied the knot! One of my favorite moments of their day was doing some photos on the cross country course where they spent so much time in high school. Their bridesmaids and groomsmen made the whole day fun and lighthearted, and I loved seeing the joy these two shared.
Cayla and Zach have been together since high school, and they tied the knot in a colorful outdoor wedding in northern Indiana. I loved her hot pink florals and gorgeous braid! Her first look with her dad had me in tears. Their families came together to create an unforgettable union for them, and it was a beautiful day.
Kelszie and Evan tied the knot in a beautiful, intimate ceremony on family property. The fall colors were perfect, and a pond made the perfect backdrop for their ceremony. Their guests partied with a perfect dance floor beneath a tent, and warmed up around a bonfire. Of course, Kelszie and Evan's wedding day wouldn't have been complete without their two pups!
First and foremost, we'll meet to chat over coffee or hot chocolate! I want to hear about your wedding plans, how you met, how you got engaged, if you're a dog or cat person... all that other good stuff.
Your wedding photographer needs to be someone that you trust and feel comfortable around, so this is the perfect opportunity for us to get to know one another and see how we work together.
While we talk, you can see some wedding galleries, I'll tell you all the fab details of working together, and you'll probably hear some stories about my dog and cat too.
Once you're officially a KLP Bride, we'll get a date set for your engagement session! My biggest goal is to capture natural, candid moments, so you'll definitely spend time laughing.
I'm happy to do photos somewhere that's special to you, or I can suggest some of my favorite spots. And if you're not sure what to wear, I can help with that too.
You'll receive preview photos the very next day, and your full engagement photo gallery back in 4-6 weeks, just in time to put pictures on save the dates or invitations!
I know that when I was a bride, hands-down the most confusing part of wedding planning was trying to put together a timeline for the day. I had no idea what I was doing or how much time everything would take. That's why now I always make sure to work with you so that you have the best timeline for your day, the one that doesn't keep your guests waiting and still allows for the most amount of photo time. I'm happy to share sample timelines catered to your plans, whether you'd like to share a first look earlier in the day or see each other for the first time walking down the aisle.
I'll also ask for a list of family photos so I can keep those running smoothly on the wedding day.
Woo! It's finally the day you've been waiting for. I can't wait to celebrate with you! On the day of, I've been known to be a tissue holder, dress bustler, hair fixer, boutonniere pinner, doer of all the things. I'll probably cry tears of happiness as soon as anyone else cries. What can I say? I'm a shameless romantic.
I want the same thing for you on your wedding day that I hope you want too: relaxed and joyful. Don't sweat the little stuff. (Seriously. At my wedding, my whole cake collapsed and I lost my voice. And I loved every second) At the end of the day, you're married to your best friend. That's what this is about. I work best with couples who know the wedding day is really just about the beginning of a marriage.
As soon as I get home from your wedding, I start working on your photos! (Just ask Leslie and Brady... I shot their wedding the day before I left for Peru. I stayed up editing until 3 a.m., when I sent their preview photos, and then drove straight to the airport!) It's really important to me that you get some preview photos within a day after your wedding so that you can share them.
I know I was so excited to see my wedding photos ASAP (and change my name on Facebook!), so it's important to me that you get that too.
You'll receive your professionally edited wedding day photos in a personalized gallery within 6-8 weeks. Depending on the number of hours included in your package, you can expect 600-1,000 images (and often many more - my self control isn't great!).
In your gallery, you can download all of your photos, share them with family and friends, upload photos directly to Facebook, and order professional prints if you choose to do so. Along with your downloaded photos, you'll receive a print release so that you can order all the prints, canvases, and albums your heart desires from wherever you choose. Yay!
