Warm and giggly engagement session at Holcomb Gardens at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana

I met Chantal and Ryan at Holcomb Gardens at Butler University for their engagement session! These two are an absolute blast to be around, and I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard at a photo session. They are so joyful and excited to spend their lives together.

Although planning a wedding during a pandemic can be so stressful, Chantal and Ryan reminded me of the pure joy at the heart of marriage in the first place. When I asked Ryan when he knew that he wanted to marry Chantal, he said it was much sooner than he’d like to admit. He knew pretty much right away.

I can’t wait to celebrate with these two and their family and friends. If it’s half as fun as their engagement photos, my cheeks are going to be sore from smiling so much.

Holcomb Gardens

Holcomb Gardens, located on the campus of Butler University, is a 20-acre wooded park in Indianapolis. It’s so beautiful and well-maintained year round! Holcomb Gardens boasts paved wooded trails, an open grassy mall with beautiful flowers, a pond, and the most beautiful dramatic outdoor stairs. I love how surprisingly private and natural it feels despite being so close to downtown Indy.

The gardens are an awesome place for to get photos done, propose, or even get married. Be sure to watch out for the geese!

I should note that Holcomb Gardens can be a busy spot. You’ll generally find it the least busy early in the day and on weekdays.
