Sunrise Purdue engagement session with champagne in West Lafayette, Indiana
Sora and Tae decided to take advantage of the gorgeous spring weather we were having with some engagement photos before their wedding in Korea in June!
I loved every second with these two. First of all, they had the ABSOLUTE best outfits. They were so fun and giggly. And they brought along some champagne to pop in celebration! It’s so obvious how much their friends and family care for them, as they’ve been deeply involved with the wedding planning process, and a friend made a bouquet for Sora for their engagement photos!
We began their engagement photo session at Prophetstown State Park, and since this was an early morning, we had it all to ourselves! Afterwards, we headed to Purdue University campus. We even spent a little time doing pictures in a parking garage, too. 😉
Good luck with your wedding in Korea, you two!
Prophetstown State Park is one of my favorite West Lafayette photo locations! It’s Indiana’s newest state park and preserves native Indiana habitats that provide homes for area wildlife. According to the Indiana DNR, “the park’s landscape has been shaped by ice from glaciers, moving water, fire and human hands that helped maintain the vast tall prairie grass.” It features so many paved trails rolling through grassy fields and woods.
It’s also home to the Farm at Prophetstown, a training farm that offers classes and programs about historic agriculture, homesteading, and animal care.
Purdue University’s campus offers lots of photo locations for Boilermaker photo sessions!
The Engineering Fountain is iconic, and its surrounding areas offer beautiful landscaping, especially in the spring.
Because campus can be quite busy during the semesters, I recommend shooting here in the summer or on weekends! Note that lots of campus parking requires a permit. You can pay to park in the Grant Street Garage year-round, or there are various two-hour parallel parking blocks around campus. Some of the permit parking locations are available to non-permit holders during certain evening hours and on weekends!
Don’t forget to stop at Hovde Hall and the Bell Tower too! (Did you know the Bell Tower has a time capsule buried underneath? So cool!)

A champagne pop is always a good idea at your engagement session! I may have gotten sprayed a little, but the pictures were worth it. 😉
The Grant Street Garage rooftop is AWESOME at sunrise!
