Winter Purdue University and downtown Lafayette engagement session

Allie and I first met when we studied abroad in Tanzania together almost four years ago! Even though we barely knew each other yet, we sat next to one another on the plane. (That was a wild experience in and of itself given that she’s terrified of takeoff and I’d never been on a plane before!) Over the next few weeks, I got to know Allie and her heart for the kids we were teaching in Boma Village. She’s hilarious, sassy, so giving, and so passionate. I’m so glad we became friends in Tanzania.

I’m also so, so happy that Allie has found Eric. It’s obvious how happy the two of them make each other. He’s just as fierce as she is, and I loved spending this time wandering around downtown, Happy Hollow Park, and Purdue University with them. Since they’re both Purdue alumni, it only made sense to capture their love at their alma mater. And when we were walking downtown and came across that elephant wall — well, I knew it was meant for the two of them.

I cannot wait to celebrate with Allie and Eric at their wedding in November, and I can’t wait to see what great things these two do for the world in the future. (Stay tuned to the end of this blog post for some pics of me and Allie in Tanzania!)
